Annual Meeting June 2020

Our annual meeting was scheduled for June 20, 2020; however, given our current social distancing and not being able to assemble in large groups due to Covid-19, the Lake Association Board has decided to conduct our annual meeting through the mail. This letter will include information that we had hoped to share with you in person, a ballot page, and some important notices. We want to also want to welcome new neighbors to the lake! Please know that we will miss gathering together as neighbors, catching up on life, and hearing your concerns. In order to serve you, we still need your feedback so please include it on the ballot page. If you haven't turned in your membership cards & dues, please include them in the return envelope.

We need the ballot page with feedback postmarked by June 22. Thank you!

Old Business:

* Secretary's report - included in packet. Please vote to approve/disapprove on the ballot page.

* Treasurer's report - included in packet. Please vote to approve/disapprove on the ballot page.

New Business:

* Water clarity reading:

Little McDonald Lake had a clarity reading of 16 ft in 2019. This year (5/31/20) Little Mac had a reading of 18 ft.

Kerbs Lake had clarity reading 15.5 ft in 2019. This year (5/31/20) Kerbs had a reading of 15 ft.

Thank you Jim & Bonita Haider and Larry & Cindy Mollins for all your work!

* Current water level:

Dave Wenzel reported approximately 17.5 inches above OHW on Little McDonald Lake. The DNR will not be setting water level stakes this year because of the virus so Dave Wenzel has set a stake and used his transom to give us his best estimate of the lake level. Thank you, Dave! Important reminder: Shoreline restoration can NOT take place until the lake is 12 in or less above OHW, and a permit is needed from Land & Resource.

* Board member elections: Please vote on the ballot page.

* Fireworks schedule: July 3 (Friday evening) with July 5 (Sunday evening) as a backup. All lake residents and visitors to the area are responsible for their own safety and social distancing. The Lake Association assumes no responsibility for the actions of watchers, either on shore or on the water.

* Lake Region natural gas line update: LRES plans to work on natural gas line installations around Little McDonald Lake but the schedule is dependent on the progress of the County Hwy 34.

* Venting update: When OTC gives permission, the LID will begin pumping - maybe end of June.

* Our guest speakers have been rescheduled until next year, although we did recently email our residents some information from Darrin Newville from the East OTC SWCD.

* AIS - Please remember to clean your boats of weeds especially when fishing on other lakes

Outcome of Annual Meeting

At the July 16, 2020 board meeting, the results from the 2020 Annual Meeting mail-in ballots were reported by Angela Willenbring, President, and David Dunning, Treasurer, to the rest of the board members.

Old Business:

A request was made for members to vote on the Secretary’s Report and the Treasurer’s Report from the 2019 Annual Meeting. These reports were enclosed in the mailed out packets. The results of the ballots received and postmarked by June 22, 2020 were:

Secretary’s Report - 67 approved, 1 disapprove. A need for correction was noted in that the date of shutoff for pumps was March 23, 2019 instead of April 23, 2019. This correction was made. Treasurer’s Report - 67 approve, 1 disapprove. The member disapproving noted the fireworks fund do not reconcile from year to year.

New Business: Board Member election vote totals received and postmarked by June 22, 2020 were:

Garry Griffin - 67

Bruce Wessman - 66

Angela Willenbring - 65

Alan Bierderman - 1

Ron Kregrud - 1

Tim Bertchi -1

Mike Hamann - 1

Garry Griffin and Angela Willenbring will both serve another term and Bruce Wessman will be added to the board.

The board wishes to thank all the members for their patience with this new meeting format and for your taking the time to send in your votes and your membership cards. Hopefully next year we can all join together again. If you have questions or concerns about LMKLA issues, please feel free to contact any of the board members listed in your directories and the newsletter.

Angela Willenbring, President Kathryn Anderson, Recording Secretary
